The Beginning of a Green Journey
Last Saturday morning, AXA Engineers had the opportunity to accompany the Youth Union – Faculty of Civil Engineering, Ho Chi Minh City Open University, through the volunteer program “Firefly 2025” at Phase 1 – Planting Flowers and Trees. This was not just a simple tree-planting activity, but a meaningful day for AXA Engineers, students, and local residents to come together, share experiences, and contribute to the community. Every moment of lively teamwork reminded us that no matter how small, every action has the power to create meaningful change when joined together.
The Meaning of Every Green Seed
Every tree planted in the soil is a symbol of new beginnings, of hope, and of the aspiration for a sustainable future. Each seed is more than just a contribution to the landscape—it carries a message: “Change begins with the simplest of actions.”
The image of hands covered in soil, beads of sweat on foreheads, yet smiles shining brightly, was a vivid reflection of responsibility and dedication. It was not only the joy of planting a tree, but also the belief that, one day, these trees will grow tall, casting shade and adding beauty to the streets—just as the spirit of volunteerism plants seeds of hope in people’s hearts.
Spreading the Green Living Message
This initiative was about more than planting trees. Volunteers also cultivated flowerbeds, cleared weeds, cleaned streets, and collected waste in public spaces. Every action—whether picking up a plastic bag or gathering a dry branch—contributed to a cleaner and healthier environment.
What seemed like simple deeds held powerful influence. They reminded us all that protecting the environment does not always require grand strategies—it starts with small, consistent habits: disposing of waste properly, keeping sidewalks clean, and preserving greenery around us. Each clean street and every vibrant patch of flowers stood as a message of sustainable living. As rows of young trees and colorful blossoms appeared, they quietly spoke to every passerby: “Change your habits. Let’s protect our shared home together.”
From reducing plastic waste, conserving water, to caring for the trees around us, each small action contributes to a healthier environment and a better quality of life for generations to come.
For a Greener, Cleaner, and More Beautiful Environment
Strengthening Community Bonds
The greatest value of Phase 1 went beyond the visible results—newly planted flowers, cleaner streets, and tidier spaces. It was found in the human connection. Groups of young people working side by side, encouraging one another, and sharing tasks built a strong collective spirit. A handshake after completing a task, a nod of encouragement—all of these fueled unity and strengthened the belief that when many hearts share one purpose, everything becomes possible.
For AXA Engineers, this was not a one-time volunteer activity, but part of our long-term commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. We believe that corporate culture is not only built inside offices but also nurtured through meaningful contributions to society. Each tree planted and every street cleaned reflects our effort to create value not only for clients but also for the community. It is a source of pride and motivation that drives us to continue supporting impactful projects in the future.

The Firefly 2025 Journey Continues
Phase 1 was just the beginning. The seeds planted today will grow into trees that provide shade, add color to neighborhoods, and enhance the quality of life for local residents. More importantly, they stand as living proof of the community’s shared spirit of care and responsibility—values that AXA Engineers deeply cherishes.
The Firefly 2025 journey is still ongoing, with Phase 2 promising more meaningful activities ahead. With each “tiny firefly light”—whether it is picking up trash or planting a seedling—we are gradually lighting up the community, nurturing hope for a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable future. At AXA Engineers, we believe that change does not come from one individual, but from the collective effort of many. And when each person contributes a little, the community receives a lot in return.
